Well, today is Friday May 21st. Actually since we are in a Mid-West city and they are applying something called a ""different time zone, It may not be be Friday where you are. But anyhow and what ever day it is or will be, we are leaving tomorrow (Saturday?- maybe).
We saw Jud last night and I hoped to see him again but now I have been told that last night was our good-bye. Some how I missed that deadline so I think that I will force the famuily to drop bye Mother Hubbard's and say good bye - I know a bartender, who works there, so maybe I'll buy a round or two of free-ones for the family. Aren't I such a giver!
Today we took Kennan, Tom and Susanna's youngest child to a wonderful Chicago Children's Museum. Kids all over and then some - I think that the local teachers are filling their end of year class days with field trips Bottom line it was fun and Nainai (Chinese for Grandma) seemed to enjoy herself as did Keenan, Downtown Chicago is enormous and has sky scrappers whose upper floors were not viewable due to the low hanging clouds. But it really is big and filled with beautiful buildings. Lynn and I hare seriously thinking of coming up for a few month in the summer. It is over run with great schools and cultural events and wonderful restaurants- but the first chilly wind - I'm Miami bound!
Tomorrow we will leave after lunch and drive to Davenport, Iowa - Yeah, you're right Mrs.V has never been to Iowa. After Iowa we hope to make it to Hannibal Missouri, home of Mark Twain. Actually his name was Samuel Clements, but he could never spell it correctly, So he adopted the navigational answer to " How deep is it?" ----- "Marktwain" I'm not sure that the word or words ever meant anything but at least the sailors on duty could yell something back without cursing or sounding dumb! I mean how would a Mississippi River steam boat Captain have reacted to a "HUH?" or What'ja say? So how much more am I going to write? MARK TWAIN! Write some more tomorrow maybe!
