Pre-India /Nepal trip- Sarcasm!

I’m already waiting to get Home!

Home again, Home again – Dig – A – Re – Gig!
Home again, Home again to rare beef or Bar-B-Que’d pig!
To fewer wary noises or nose wrinkling smells or scent
Or wondering what the waiter or doorman may have meant?
No more need to step wide and far, not nigh
due to the always present,
never pleasant,
recently deposited
“holy cow”- pie.
Or while attempting to look beyond the many in gross need,
while chasing away each germ ridden fly.

Foods, which we'll gamble to order and eat,
Much of it, unknown but hopefully a tasty treat
But there will be dishes which we'll failed to recognize!
Or have to use "rest rooms”, so called, under effective disguise
Which lack both godlessness or cleanliness
Though needed and would be a pleasant surprise.

But to Siva, to Brahman and Vishnu too
and to our Lord God , I want to say to each of  you!
Bless India and Nepal and our old USA
The experiences we will have, there’s something to say.
May their beauty and people always be great, Sir.
As we'll take home, our full mind’s memories
To meet and re-greet the things that we'll see,
the grand experiences you promise and will probably be.

35 hours til Flight time

Well like any one convicted by fate, I merely have to wait now- there's a "chair"somewhere for me. Hopefully, it is on an American Airline plane bound for India. Tomorrow afternoon +/- 5:00 pm we will leave the United States and fly to London then on to Mumbai.  Weather in Mumbai is and probably will be rainy - even though I was told that the Monsoon season was over - well I guess we all must suffer with the ice-less polar bears and face the changing weather patterns.  I will finish packing today ( I hope!) Let's see: the house has been secured and the police and our security company have been informed, Mail and newspaper have been stopped, and our pets sitter has been employed, medicines been packaged, cameras tested, lap top functional, books selected and packed. Well then it just brushing my teeth, taking a shower and get going tomorrow afternoon - I get less anxious and more interested - now that I can only assume that it is going to happen -  Yeah , like the chair I guess! Matter f time!

Home Sick Already! (Attempted funny but to sarcastic Poem)

I’m already waiting to get Home!

Home again, Home again – Dig – A – Re – Gig!
Home again, Home again to rare beef or Bar-B-Que’d pig!
To fewer wary noises or unfamiliar smells or scent
Or wondering what the waiter or doorman may have meant?
Nor the need to step wide and far, not nigh
due to the always present, never pleasant,
recently deposited “holy cow”- pie.
Or while attempting to look beyond those in gross need,
While shooing away those damned germ ridden gnat or fly.

Foods, which we gambled to order and eat,
Much of it, a unknown but unquestionable tasty treat
But there were dishes which we failed to recognize!
Or “those rest rooms”, so called, in an effective disguise
In which either godlessness or cleanliness
Was needed and would have been a pleasant surprise.

But to Siva, to Brahman and Vishnu too
and to our Lord God , I want to say to you!
Bless India and Nepal and our old USA
With the experiences we had, there’s something to say.
May their beauty and people always be great, Sir.
As we take home, the our full mind’s memories
To meet and re-meet,
the grand experiences you were!

Friends, I'm going to India and going to call them Americans!

In the beginning days of October, my wife and are going to India.  You may remember that Columbus came here, ok not here but somewhere,  in 14 and 92 and thought that he had reached India or the Indies and called the local folks  "Indians" - Well India  - It wasn't! and Indians - They weren't! It seem to me that turn around is fair play - I, we are off to called those heathen snake hummers - Americans!
In the next few days I'll give you a list of presumed cities and villages that we are thinking of visiting while in India and Nepal.  I use the word - presumed - due to the probable and/or foreseeable case of "Dehli Belly"which seems to find and curse all westerns, who may come with peace in their hearts but as a results of eastern or asian pay-back rule for Montazuma's Revenge, the effect of Dehli Belly are broadly felt.  It maybe related to the bathroom etiquette of India and the non-dexterious right hand left hand confusion when reaching for some food, bubble gum or purposeless medicine.  Oh well until we meet again - May the Vindalu Goat not kick your bottom on the way out!

Aug. 12th - It's an odd day!

Today is an odd day.  It's raining torrentially in Miami, my local two grandsons are with their parents in Georgia enjoying themselves and it is the anniversary of the bombing of  Nagasaki, Japan.  One A-bomb was not enough, apparently; the Japanese military had to be convinced - so there were more lives lost. The war ( WW II ) was basically over!  Today the Catholic church memorializes a women, Edith Stein who born jewish, converted and became a nun. Unfortunately the Nazi in Holland were pissed at the Catholic Bishops published opinions concerning their treatment of the Jews and arrested even those converts from Judaism.  On this day in 1942, Sister Teresa was gassed with her natural sister.
What kind of guts does it take to kill for your beliefs or to die for them? Protect us, God, from facing such options.  I have successfully prayed for that protection for my own children and now I will continue for my grand children.

Sunday, August 8, 2010

Well your Prayers were not answered, I'm coming back!

Some terse points:  Miami - still Too Hot, Retirement - Too inactive,
Grandchildren - Still GREAT!
Lynn and I took three of them ( Ava in pink, Patrick in Red tee shirt, and Greggy in Blue tee shirt ) on a short vacation trip to an Amish farm in Pennsylvania and to Hershey and finally to Baltimore's Inner Harbor . Love those kids but their basic quality is still being bottomless pits of energy consuming material which I am unable to filled or to which I can't even successfully contribute in any meaningful way.  God bless Grandma.   More tomorrow, just remembering the vacation week with the "Grands" has encouraged me to go and take a nap.  God bless, Tom
